Craftsmanship & In-House Woodworkshop

Hout-Doe has its own artisanal woodworkshop. This allows us to repair, modify, and personalize wooden toys. All our wooden toys come with a standard one-year warranty.  We believe in toys that last for generations — durable, educational, and designed for fun.

Sustainable & Responsible Toys

Sustainability is in Hout-Doe's DNA. All our toys: Complies with the latest European Toy Safety Directive (EN-71) Produced in responsible production environments Made with the most responsible CO₂ emissions possible. Contains wood from PEFC/FSC-certified forests whenever possible. This means that with Hout-Doe, you're not only choosing quality, but also a responsible future.

Second Chance Toys & Waste Prevention

Hout-Doe actively contributes to waste prevention. We give old or damaged wooden toys a second life. Often, a small repair or a new coat of safe paint is enough to make toys look like new again. We donate these second chance toys to charities every year, so that families on a tighter budget can also enjoy sustainable wooden toys.

Packaging & Shipping

We use reused and recycled packaging materials as much as possible when shipping orders. This way, we limit waste and contribute to a more sustainable use of resources. Orders placed on weekdays before 3:00 PM and in stock in our warehouse are usually shipped the same day with PostNL.
For orders over €75, enjoy free shipping within the Netherlands.

Personalized gifts & customization

Wooden toys are often personal and lasting. That's why we offer the option of personalization, such as: Name or date of birth Birth announcement Company logo. This way, you can turn a beautiful gift into a lasting memory.

"Hou-doe" is the Brabant farewell greeting used to wish each other well—similar to "take care." Hout-Doe represents our philosophy: hours of play and development fun with sustainable, affordable, and ethical toys.
